Simple sentences

Basically Estonian word order is about the same as English, by having subject in the first position followed by verb and object, or adverb, etc. Yet this rule may be broken for emphasis purposes at any time! Interrogative sentences have question word in the first position while other parts of the sentence follow regular word order. Note that in Estonian interrogative sentences, the tone is raised in the middle (at the verb) not in the end as in English.

Mis su nimi on?/ What's your name?
Meeldiv tutvuda!/ Pleased to meet you!
Kohtume homme kell kolm !/ Let's meet tomorrow at three o'clock!
Ma armastan sind./ I love you.
